White Mud

This is a fun and cheap and clean way to make a mess. :)

What you need... A roll of Toilet Paper, 6 cups of water, 2 Teaspoons of Detergent, and a bucket.
Step 1 - Tear ALL of the Toilet Paper into little pieces and put in your bucket.
I am serious all of it.
Step 2 - Pour the water and detergent over the Toilet Paper, then squish away.
The longer you play with it the more it breaks down, if you add less than six cups and only cover the Toilet Paper you can actually mold the Toilet Paper like play dough.
The kids liked it for awhile and then I put it away and before I dumped it let them play with it one more time and they had fun washing the tables with their lumps of Toilet Paper. Try it, it was fun to get down and dirty...I mean clean! :)

Cinnamon Chips

A simple snack for after nap or after school! Here is what you need...

Tortillas, Butter (melted) cinnamon and sugar.

Step 1 - Cut the tortillas into triangles and place on a baking sheet.
Step 2 - Butter all of the triangles.
Step 3 - Sprinkle Cinnamon and Sugar over every single triangle.
Step 4- Bake at 350 for 8 minutes or until crispy. Place on a plate and let the chowing begin...

Splash Out

This is a product test post. Since there are only a few days of summer left we decided to take this baby out and try it out. You fill the balloons up and then stick it in the ball and turn the timer and pass it. When the timer stops a pin inside pokes the balloons and gets you wet.

My kids liked it, and when we ran out of balloons they wanted to play with the hose - this was a fun little afternoon of water play! Thanks to Auntie S who gave this to L for his 3rd birthday. Summer Birthdays ROCK!

Rectangle Shape Collage

I cut out several different shapes. Everyone decided Rectangle was their favorite so we made rectangles this time.

Here is what you need. Shapes, Glue and Paper.
I made a rectangle out of glue and they stuck the shapes on.
Here is the finished product.
They were easy and cute and we are really working on knowing the shapes. L, age 3 knows them all so he thinks he is helping me teach them to B age 22 months and K 18 months. Whatever works right?

Swirly-Bumpy Snakes

My son really wanted his friend A to come over and play and finally the stars aligned and we were able to have her over. We read a few books about snakes and then made these crazy things!

Here is what you need...
Paint (I used finger paint because it is lightweight and more vibrant in color)
Bubble Wrap, Paper and a brayer (not pictured) or foam brushes.
You paint the bubble wrap any color, we did 2 on one piece.
Then you press the paper on the bubble wrap.
Here are A, B, and L's papers...cool huh?
Then you cut into a circle (once they dry) and add string to the top.
We decided to hang ours, but you could do anything you want.
And that is it!

Sock Sack

We made it through the week without paint! Yea us!

This is a perfect solution for lost socks...and in this house of 5 we have an entire bin of lost socks!

Here is what you need...
Unmatched socks
Dried beans, lentils or rice

Simply fill the sock with about 1 cup of dry beans.

Tie the end and pull to tighten.
There you go...it's a sock sack!

Combined with a large coffee can, #10 can or waste basket or large bowl and you've got "basket sack!"

We decided to leave the tails on because they look funnier when you are trying to throw it in the basket.

You can use it to really fling your sack high into the sky. Or throw it at your younger sister. You decide!

Pizzadillas

Here is another fun lunch time treat that is easy and different...

They can sauce it...

Cheese it...

Pepperoni it...

Or in K's case sneak a few pepperoni's.

Cook in the oven or microwave till the cheese is melted, slice and enjoy.
I served mine with fresh fruit and the kids devoured.
