Valentines - 1

Busy gettin' our Valentine's on!

My son (and me) made these cute things!

The teacher made the pink hearts with numbers so the class only had to write their OWN names on the Valentines. We incorporated into the valentine.

We just did our own version using paper I had on hand, and some punches I had here too.

The army guys were found at the penny section at Michaels.

So - $0.01 for 18 Valentines. Not to Shabby!

Wreaths and People

Today is the last day of SHAPES because we have such a huge giveaway tomorrow!

So we did something simple but cute with HEARTS.

Cut a bunch of hearts out on different color construction paper, then cut a hole in a paper plate.

Then glue hearts to paper plate.

Then add glitter, because everything needs glitter.

Tada!

Then we had heart snacks.

Then we made heart people.

Pink Math

First I made a graph, and then colored directions.  The gray represents the color white.

Then I gave the kids Q-Tips to apply the number of dots.

Then mix to see what color it makes.

She was actually more excited than this picture shows. :)

I left 3 columns blank so they could make up their own pink recipe.

This was very fun, and they learned that a little red goes a long way!

Three Little Pigs

I opted to print it in black and white and color it myself, laminate it and then hot glue it on craft sticks so the kids could act it out. This picture is before I did all of that!

Then we talked about how pigs are dirty and messy and PINK! So we made tissue paper pigs today as the project!  Here is the shape I used, I just cut it and traced it on cardstock!

Then we glued Tissue Paper to it.

Then I mounted it on grass.

I did it this way so I could use it again for Farm Week in a few weeks. I also added a googly eye to this pig, but forgot to take a picture of it after it was added!

Pink Lunch

It was time for a color lunch so A chose PINK!  I am not going to lie...this was a challenge but we did it!

So we had a oh so nutritious lunch consisting of...Strawberry Whoppers, Strawberry yogurt, Pink Grapefruit, Pink Animal Crackers, Pocky and Canadian Bacon.  I supplemented this lunch with sandwiches on the side because there was no real substance to this meal but they had fun tasting everything!

Especially the Grapefruit! YIKES!

We then made a color chart and put the different things in order from light to dark.  This was really fun!

Then we ate some more and called it an afternoon!
